Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ
1256 PM MST Sun Jan 25 2026

.SYNOPSIS...Fair weather will return to the region over the next
several days. Cold temperatures will continue through the first
part of the week, then slightly above normal daytime temperatures
are expected mid to late week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will dominate the weather across
northern Arizona into next weekend. Weak and dry passing
shortwave troughs will deliver periods of high cloudiness and some
increase in northerly winds at times (perhaps on Tuesday and
again on Saturday) but that is about it. Just a couple details
worth noting. First, with cold and dry air in place, overnight
lows tonight and Monday night will remain in the single digits to
teens from the Mogollon Rim northward before persistent flow of
air from over the Pacific Ocean moderates our air mass. Also,
daytime highs will remain below normal until about Wednesday when
those moderating effects take over. By Wednesday low temperatures
will be near seasonal averages with high temperatures climbing to
5-10 degrees above average. Second, we will see those locally
gusty nighttime northeast winds (15-20 mph) south of the Mogollon
Rim as strong radiational cooling will produce drainage flow in
the steep terrain.

Other than the above, really nothing is appearing on the weather
horizon.
